KAYAQ

During my studies of the Classic boats of Norway – the viking ship construction, my attention has also been drawn towards simular basic boats of different primary natur-cultures around the world.

I find a facinating simularity in the basic philosophy in the use of material, building technique and of course how the boats were and still are used in some places on our planet.

The kayaq is one of those boat principles. I did a trip to Greenland some years ago and since then I have built some kayaqs based on the traditional principles.
